The National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic is the nation’s premier amateur golf event for charity. Each year thousands of golfers from across the country participate - for the exciting competition, valuable gifts, and the chance to win great prizes - all to benefit a worthy cause.
Team Scramble: A Format for Excitement
Each local National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic tournament is conducted using a four-person team scramble format, following USGA Handicap Index requirements. Each team member tees off, and the best drive is selected. All four players then play from that spot. This process continues until the hole is completed. Each team must use at least three drives from each player during the course of the round. The team with the lowest gross score wins.
The team scramble format provides everyone -- men and women, scratch golfers, and high handicappers -- an opportunity to win valuable prizes and possibly that invitation to Pebble Beach. Golfers of all skill levels are encouraged to compete, enjoy a great day of golf and support the National Kidney Foundation.
